The Oddness of Parts (2011)

This course, taught by Mimi Gross, the 2010-11 Genevieve McMillan/Reba Stewart Chair in Painting, is a multi-discipline collaborative class that began with an open-ended prompt to create a plan for a garden of delights.

About Me

The Oddness of Parts 2011
"Oddness of Parts" Class artwork will be an independent "Garden of Delights"/(Imagination and Dreams) themed project. It is aimed towards a collaborative installation, working with mixed media and multiple dimensions. The plan is approximatley 25' wide x 8-10' high x 5-6' deep. This is a relatively small class, each student is from a different department. We will submit a sketch with details on Tuesday, march 8th, before the spring break. See class blog from first semester (oddnessparts.blogspot.com) which has more details of our method for the course and includes a video of the installation at Lady Atrium, December 2010. ("Oddness of Parts: A Body Is A Park Is A Body") This new installation will elaborate the theme further. Mimi Gross
